To meditate or not to meditate...

I don’t meditate. Especially early morning. For the simple reason that I cannot get up. I am not a morning person, I go to bed late, don’t always sleep well and the prospect of getting up in the dark and the cold before the rest of the household is above my forces!

I am a yoga teacher who does not meditate.

Does that make me a bad teacher? I will let you judge of that! 😬

But I have stopped feeling guilty about it. Maybe in a later life when I have a room for myself and my yoga, my meditation, maybe I will meditate every morning. Maybe. I will let you know…

In the meantime, I meditate on my mat, when I practice asanas. Not every time but I tend to spend some time just sitting and observing.

And I find the best practice to observe and reflect, is yin yoga. A beautiful slow practice where we get in the postures and stay there and feel. And notice. And not judge.

If you are in midlife like me, you need more than yin to build strength and keep mobile, but Yin brings calm and peace to a life that is often busy and fast, sometime stressful.

You can join me on Sundays at 6pm for 75mn of stretches, observation, calm and reflection. In the heart of Muswell Hill. Or on zoom. So very convenient too!!
